It can be difficult to figure out how to pay for assistive technology. The same goes for AAC. TechOWL can help people identify different sources of funding.

With an assessment by a speech therapist, insurance can pay for AAC. If insurance says no, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania may be able to pay.

There are other sources of money as well. Sometimes, there are grants, scholarships or crowdsourcing that can help pay for technology. TechOWL also administers a mini-grant project called the Virginia Del Sordo Fund. Learn more at https://techowlpa.org/service/help-with-pay/

Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) is another resource in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Learn more at https://patf.us/
