Whether you are borrowing an iPad with AAC apps, or you now have your new speech generating device, you will most likely need to edit some buttons to personalize the app. You may want to add family photos, favorite places, or even slang.  You may also need to set some restrictions, so that the AAC user doesn’t accidentally delete or change their vocabulary.

App vendors and device companies do have videos on their websites and YouTube channels.  These are great, but tend to be fairly long. Here at AAC Community, we are building a library of short video clips.  Each is around a minute long. We have broken down the skills, such as how to edit a button or how to choose a vocabulary set.

Short videos like these can be helpful for “on the spot” programming, when you just need a little knowledge right away.  And we are adding more videos to our YouTube channel every week! Click on the images below to go to the YouTube videos.
